Midnight Dream Tutorial

I wrote this tutorial Aug/08, any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

I am using the gorjuss artwork of Suzanne Woolcott, do not use the same tube unless you have a licence to do so. You can get Suzanne's tubes Here.

I used PSP9 but it can be done in other versions as well. This tutorial requires a good working knowledge of PSP.

You will need Alien Skin Xenofex 2-constellation plugin.

Font of choice, I used elegant.

A tube of Choice

Mask of choice, I used mask #21 by Becky.

My free scrapkit Midnight Dreams which can be downloaded here on my blog.

Let's get started

Open a new image 500 x 500 and flood fill white.

Open paper 03 from my scrapkit and resize by 84%, copy and then paste as a new layer onto new image.

Apply your mask, on your layer pallete delete mask layer and merge group.

Open frame 02 copy and then paste as a new layer.

Take your magic wand and click inside of the star. Go to selections, modify, expand and expand by 3.

Take your tube of choice copy and paste as a new layer, position as you prefer. Then go to selections and choose invert and then hit "delete" on your keyboard. Move this layer below your star frame. Deselect.

Add a drop shadow of choice to this image and your star frame. I used 2, 2, 50 and 8.

Paste your tube once again as a new layer and line it up over your first image. On your layer pallete move this image above the star frame. Take your eraser tool and remove all edges that you want hidden behind the star.

Decorate the tag with the embellishments, I used two stars and the ribbon.

Add a drop shadow of choice to all embellishments.

Add your text and copyright information.

Over on the layer pallete, highlight the mask layer, duplicate this twice so that you have 3 mask layers.

Close off the two copies and highlight the original mask layer.

Go to Alien skin Xenofex 2 plugin and choose constellation. Click on settings and choose small star constellation and click beside "keep original image". Click ok.

On layer pallete hide the original mask layer and unhide the first copy highlight it and go back to constellation and click random seed and then okay.

On layer pallete close off this layer and unhide the next copy and highlight it. Back to constellation and hit random seed and then okay.

Now to animate.

Hide the two copied layers of the mask and have all other layers visible. Highlight any layer but the mask layers and go to edit then copy merge, over to animation shop and paste as a new image.

Back to PSP and hide the first mask layer and unhide the first copied layer, go to edit then copy merge, over to animation shop and go to edit, paste, and then after current frame.

Back to PSP, hide the first copied layer and unhide the second copied layer, go to edit, copy merged and then to animation shop, edit, paste, after current frame.

Choose view then animation to see if it is animated. If all is well then go to file and then save as.

All done

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

All my Cu4Cu products are exactly that. No need to spend money on an extra license. My terms are very liberal and here they are:
These are the may NOT'S

--do not sell/give away the script or claim as your own
--do not use the tubes/selections/patterns/
gradients etc in other projects
--do not turn it into a greyscale template and then redistribute
--No sharing of files, just because you downloaded it doesn't give you the right to share it.

--Do not repackage as greyscale and resell and do not claim as your own
--Do not turn into a script and then sell it

What you may do:
--You may colorize and use in Cu element pkgs, kits,S4H/S4O.

That's it.
Credit not necessary but always appreciated
